Health system under par, in need of medical attention

JUBILEE CONCEDES LACK OF ADEQUATE CARE IN KENYAN HEALTH SYSTEM

As the doctor’s strike draws to a close the government remains in locked horns over working conditions in Kenyan hospitals and Jubilee has announced its latest plan, that of importing hundreds of doctors from neighbouring Tanzania. There are still doubts as to whether this will ease the burgeoning care crisis in the Kenyan public healthcare system.

One government spokesman said on the shortage of care “it’s an undeniable fact. There is a severe shortage of care- I for one don’t care about the fate of the healthcare system in the country and can say with confidence that there is an epidemic of not caring spreading thorughout the government. Would I call it a crisis? Maybe. Who gives a monkey’s?! Now, if you’ll excuse me I have an important golfing appointment to keep…” (cont'd)
